Halloween Popcorn Logs

6 tablespoons popped popcorn
12 candy sticks (about 4 1/2 inches long)
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1. Keep popcorn warm in a 160 degrees celsius oven while preparing syrup.

2. In a large saucepan, combine sugar, water, corn syrup, vinegar and salt. Cook to hard ball stage (250 degrees on a candy thermometer).

3. Stir in vanilla. Pour over popped popcorn, stirring to coat. Butter your hands, shape about 1 cup popped corn around each candy stick to form logs.

4. Let stand until cool.
